Instead of replacing my worn standard Gyro clamp,i opted to upgrade to the Orbe clamp.
First thing that strikes you is it is a much more substantial clamp and feels better to use. The change over process is straight forward (instructions are included) in fact the hardest part is rescuing the thrust ball.I found it easier once the old spindle was out, couple of drops of oil in the new spindle and good to go. Reassemble is all straight forward and in less than a quarter of an hour your back in business.
Highly recommended and you get to keep the hypnotic weights.

A useful, if not essential upgrade. I have however never worked out what to do with the plastic trim ring as it don't seem to fit. Anyone know? Does it matter?

Much better than the friction clamp my GyroDec came with. I found it quite easy to fit and effective in use. Michell's text instructions could do with a drawing showing which way up the platter nut and plastic washer should be fitted.
