Nothing demonstrates Ortofon's long-standing resilience more than its commitment to the refinement of analogue sound quality and its continued development of new cartridge models. Since 1948 Ortofon have introduced about 100 different moving coil models, with their latest being the Quintet Series.Ortofon believe the cartridges in this new series are more than worthy successors to the long line of models that have made Ortofon the global leader in the manufacturing and supplying of phono cartridges. The Quintet Blue is a very homogeneous cartridge whose sound image will tend to more smooth reproduction compared to Quintet Red and moderate dynamic strength compared to Quintet Bronze. It features a Nude Elliptical diamond mounted on an aluminium cantilever. The Quintet Blue will bring more space, depth and detail into the sound and is a very good choice for any kind of music, especially rhythmic. The MC Quintet Series is congruent with Ortofon’s unrelenting commitment to providing the most precise and accurate reproduction possible without colouration.
Sound is very balanced to tracking clean sounding not the easyest of carts to fit well recomended

Bought this as an upgrade and for a replacement for an Ortofon red cartridge, fitted to a project Evo classic turntable. Fitting was easy....ish helped with a guage from the same supplier. Not having run in cartridge yet, first opinions are positive, deeper lows than previous red cartridge and overall better sound. Not being an audio expert, but with a liking for analogue sound and good quality vinyl, I feel that this was a decent upgrade/replacement. Thanks for the excellent service as usual from Analogue Seduction!
I bought this cartridge to replace a very old, but still very capable Denon DL304. After 12 hours of use it seems to be run in and sounds more stable. I have always liked the natural sound from Ortofon MC cartridges as, for me, they sound more true to life and the Quintet Blue has this quality along with clean accurate balance, broad and deep soundstage with each player given their own space. With the cartridge body design it is much easier to accurately align and tracks well at 2.3g. Very happy overall and great Analogue Seduction service.
