I bought this as an upgrade for my project essentials 3 turntable, I have to say I am very impressed! Also helps with reducing static!

...To cut a long story short, I would definitely buy the "A" (for Acrylic) edition of my Pro-Ject Essential III today rather than the one furnished with the standard issue black MDF platter; however, last summer when I purchased the turntable I do not think this version was available.
It's not only the extended (and tight) bass response, it adds weight and substance and it truly "sets the entire soundstage" firmly. And this is a requirement for this sort of light turntable.
I am more than pleased with this purchase.

Just arrived today in less than a week perfectly packed from RM.
A great sound and not only improvement on my very basic Elemental turn table. Highly recommend although quite expensive.
