I am not a HiFi expert and my only reference to better sound was in my teenage years listening to my dads budget hifi through some Rogers LS35A’s ( inspired choice at the time and sadly taken away by my brother).I dabbled a bit in the 80’s with a Cyrus One, Cyrus CD player and A&R speakers and resurrected the Cyrus with some DyneAudio Audience 42’s which I still have and have used for the last five years as part of a Sonos Connect Amp streaming Spotify. None of the later systems gave me that enjoyment of music I remember from my teenage years with vinyl.I may have lost the Rogers but I kept hold of the family vinyl and recently decided to bring it all down from the loft.I purchased a second hand Quad Vena 2 play amp and a Linn Basik/Akito/K9 set up in good condition.I was itching to replace the speakers as I have much larger living space now and wanted something floorstanding which I have never owned before. To be honest after reading review after review I just took a gamble and decided to buy the Bronze 500 locally through AnalogueSeduction. This would also give me the option to exchange if it was a total disaster and I would also rather support local businesses in the new era of Brexit and the current COVID situation. It’s taken a couple of weeks for the speakers to run in but each day now is a new experience on what these speakers are revealing and the sound they are producing. I’m loving it and feel the sound is so far ahead of anything I’ve had in the last 20 years ( not hard you may think).Barbara Streisand made me cry and I am a big Camel fan. All my vinyl sounds natural and the voices are clear and big. I do like the option of streaming and have upgraded to Tidal ( £4 for 4 months) and yes I can tell the difference between that and Spotify no question but my vinyl knocks it into a cocked hat.I am waiting for an Audio Technical cartridge to replace the K9 in an attempt to get a little bit more attack and clear the bottom end up a bit, I’m getting the bug again !!This can never be a subjective review of the Bronze 500 as there are so many other factors involved and I never had the chance to compare them to other makes. However, to my ears they sound wonderful and have helped to take me back to 1978 enjoying music with my dad, enough said.
