New Silence - Highly Recommended 24 June 2024 | Emma
It was a good idea to clean the bearing of my Rega P9… somehow, the previous owner put too much oil inside. 2 to 3 drops are recommended. I had a very tiny repeating noise; this is now fully away!

Bearing oil... a basic if still essential part of a turntable. I have 5 year old rega P2, decided a bearing clean and oil would not hurt, turntable was still working 100% just the odd squeak when starting up. So oil is universal for this type of application, not manufacturer specific.
Easy to apply, couple drops into spindle Bush onto bearing, and one onto subplatter spindle.
All sorted.... no sign of the squeak!
So fair price, easy to apply and does the job.

Does the job and probably won't destroy my table. 14 December 2022 | Jim
Turntable bearing oil varies rather bewideringly in price. I used this in my MOFI and Clearudio Performance tables and it seemed to do the job nicely at a very decent price. and Michell are, of course, an excellent brand who know what they are doing.
Of course perhaps over the years it will eat my bearings away like Alien blood, but I kind of doubt it.

Michell Engineering turntable bearing oil 07 December 2022 | Emil
As always, buying with this online retailer is hassle free. The item got delivered 3 days following the transaction. Also happy with the product which has addressed my turntable's speed fluctuations.

Great oil works as described.
I've used it to to provide lubrication for my Townshend Rock 3 TT inverted bearing.
In the past I've used various types of oil from machine oil to 3-in-1 and I must say when I place my ear right up against the the turntable spindle/bearing when spinning, with the Michell synthetic oil in place if found the bearing has no sound at all. With some oils I could hear some noise, not much, but a little coming from the bearing - sounds were like paper sliding over a desk.
Just a quick review and to put it In a nut shell, whats immediately obvious when playing music I found background noise quieter which benefits the whole sound.
If you intend to experiment with oils as I did I found some oils can be too thick e.g. (avoid this one) 3-in-1 and some can be too thin which in my case has shown an increase in mechanical noise. Michell oil is just right for my rock 3 with it's inverted bearing playing an additional role to feed the oil from the bottom of the bearing (sump) to the top of the shaft.
The bearing mechanical silence I've heard is clearly showing the working of the oil feeding system to be consistently lubricating the whole of the bearing.

Seems expensive for a few millilitres of oil, but worth it to keep the Gyrodec running perfectly for another few years

MICHELL ENGINEERING SYNTHETIC TURNTABLE BEARING OIL 16 January 2018 | Salim
The oil has worked and the turntable is running smoothly. The advice I got on the phone before placing the order about cleaning the old oil off the spindle with a lint free cloth was very helpful

It does the job very well! And, more important, you don't need the whole jar. It's enough to lubricate the bearing twice.
