The standard cable which comes with the Cardas Audio A8 Ear Speakers can be removed at the splitter/jointer and replaced with this optional cable to fit the balanced output of the ASTELL & KERN digital players.

I have had a pair of Cardas A8s for a couple of years now but recently changed my DAP to a Hiby R3 which has a balanced output option. I found the balanced cable almost by accident and bought one to extend my options from the existing 3.5mm cable.

It is early days without much burn in or back to back comparisons but I do think that the music is sounding appreciably better through the balanced cable. Whether this is the cable and headphones or the DAP is open to debate but it is a worthwhile upgrade nonetheless.
