The 6000CDT is a dedicated CD transport incorporating the same slot-loading mechanism as audiolab’s flagship CD player, the 8300CD. Extremely robust and reliable, it uses a read-ahead digital buffer to reduce disc-reading failures, able to play scratched and damaged CDs that are unreadable by conventional mechanisms.
The Audiolab 6000CDT CD Transport is an ergonomic sound device designed to provide crisp sound output. The CD driver with an integrated amplifier is an innovative, performance-lead sound processing instrument. The Audiolab 6000CDT transfers the music output faultlessly from a mix of analogue and digital sources to the connected speakers. The 32-bit DAC is fed by two coaxial and two optical inputs.
The 6000CDT uses slot charge mechanism first introduced in the popular Audiolab 8300CD series. Upgraded with a digital buffering technique, the CD Transport avoids disc-reading failures. It also diminishes the errors whilst reading the discs of different configurations. The rigid transports are designed to hold, spin, and read the disc while keeping them scratch-less. This CD driver features an inbuilt digital clock which is controlled by a temperature compensated crystal oscillator that ensures minimum jitter in optical and coaxial outputs. The Audiolab 6000CDT offers a maximum sampling rate of 96 kHz that can reproduce sound frequencies as high as 43.6 kHz.
With an output impedance of 75 ohms, the CD Transport device ensures a healthy power transmission system. The 6000CDT features a 12V trigger output and auto standby mode to avoid excess heating and power consumption. With a maximum power consumption of 20W and standby power consumption of less than 0.5W, it is an energy efficient device. The 6000CDT with dimensions 445(W) x 300(H) x 65.5(D) mm weighs only 7.2 kg. The CD transport comes with a remote control to help you operate the system even from a distance. Kick back on your comfy couch and play the 6000CDT with your favourite genre of music. The CD transport system is available in black or silver finishes to add a stylish look to your living room and interiors.
Made the Transaction over the phone with Scott with this CDT. Arrived the following day with a trackable courier.I was a bit sceptical after reading this transport scratched discs. I can personally confirm after over 2 months of using this unit i have not had this issue. I thought i would need to do a comparison with a CDP but its clear this Transport us a cut above any other disc playing seperarate ive used.Would highly recommend this CDT and this Company to purchase any future HIFI equipment.

I have had a few Audiolab products over the years and they have always had great sound quality and a very high build quality. The 6000 range is a little cheaper that the 8000 range that I have previously owned. However, my initial thought that the cheaper 6000 range may not be the usual audiolab standard, was wrong.6000 range is as well built and sounds every bit as good as the more expensive 8000 range.Incredibly value for money and better than other CD Transport costing as much as three times more.Backed up as usual by great service and advice from Gary and the team at Analogue Seduction.
I bought this transport along with the audiolab M-DAC+ to replace an ageing but - in it's day - decent CD player. I was genuinely very surprised with the massive improvement in the sound quality from the get-go.. On listening to familiar CDs, i could immediately hear details and relationships between instruments and lines i hadn't before. Open, transparent and nicely balanced are probably the best words I can find to describe the sound. Given the quality of the sound, the flexibility of a separate transport/DAC and the overall price of the package, I'm very chuffed. I had planned to invest in a streamer, but I'm so much enjoying listening to my CD collection that the streamer will have to wait for a while.
My Audiolab 6000CDT is connected via Co-Ax to a Topping D70 DAC, via XLR to a Monolith THX AAA 887 Headphone amplifier & plays via XLR balanced output to HiFiMan Ananda’s, replacing a Cyrus CDi. I’ve listened to the 6000CDT for the last 2 weeks properly with some of my favourite tracks and WOW, the clarity, airiness, detail, depth and speed are amazing, well pleased. I can’t believe the 6000CDT has so much better disc retrieval than the CDi, but it has, and way better,...... combined with the Topping D70 (very nice), they trounce the CDi and are now giving much better performance to my beloved cans, old, old story, garbage in garbage out.I highly recommended to anyone wanting a very good transport.

This is an excellent CD transport , with fine build quality , a very substantial and quiet, in fact inaudible, CD playing slot mechanism . Optical and coaxial digital outputs are equally fine if used with reasonable quality interconnect . A good quality remote control is provided. An excellent match with any good DAC .

Solid build, elegant and sophisticated understated styling.Slot loader works quietly and efficiently and very quiet in operation. Very transparent transport - you hear just what is on the disc - no coloration at all...Your only limitations are your dac and downstream equipment - this is the last cd transport you will need! Excellent product and very reasonable price.

The design is straight forward functional, slick and elegant. The slot mechanism works smoothly and quietly. I measured electromagnetic radiation around it and it was much lower around the spinning mechanism, so I thing the faraday caging approach works well here. The sound is great! Very analytical “in your face” transport, Extreme precision, pin point holographic staging, instrumental/voice timber provides a lot of presence and joy. No coloration what so ever. On quiet passages there was no audible background noise, black quiet. You get exactly what you have on the cd. I believe this is a great transport in any price point. it will not limit your dac so you better have a great dac ready for it.Highly recommended, well done Audiolab
