I have a black and silver Clear Audio Concept turntable, which matches perfectly with this clamp. It did surprise me how much force I needed to apply to properly compress the foam disc and flatten the records. However, once done properly, it functions flawlessly. Clamps of similar style and quality can cost upwards of 100 pounds/euro, so I would not hesitate to recommend this excellent product to anyone.

Took me a while to to get it in use.. a bit awkward… but I got there. Does it help with warping?…yes. Does it improve the sound?… well in my mind… yes… and looks great when spinning the records.
As usual, analogue seduction delivery, fabulous.

In my opinion the best clamp for stabilizing and pressing down from records to the turntable,
especially as an original variant from Michell Engineering, also protects the turntable bearing due to the only small additional weight

Great product. Arrived quickly and was just as described. Easy to use with my Project Essential II turntable. Fits well and does a great job of clamping LPs in place. Noticing some small sound improvements with my older (and not so flat LPs) when using the clamp. Worth the price of admission. And great service from AS, as you'd expect.

After trying weights, this clamp is perfect and a must have for anyone with old warped records, my ‘loft’ collection is now playable. It’s really well made and worth the money, was delivered quickly, will be using analogue seduction again

Rega clamp works as the standard one 06 April 2022 | Mikael
The underside of the clamp has a raised portion at its periphery that pushes down on the outside of the label area to force the record down against the platter.
The "R" clamp is similar to the standard Michell clamp but has a shallower rim (slightly more than 1 mm) to accommodate short spindles and is therefore supplied without the felt washer which would add too much clearance for the collet to grab short spindles.
The Rega version does have enough difference between the outer rim and the rest of the clamp's bottom surface, including the collet, for it to work as expected, also for “bowl” or “dish” shaped records, BUT for them you need to add a washer and there is none supplied with the clamp. Since the clamp is shallower you need a thinner washer than the 3,5-4 mm washer supplied with the standard clamp.
How thick depends on if the platter (or mat) has a recess or not, I use three different felt and rubber washers between 1,5 and 3 mm thick to get the desired result, different records also might need different thicknesses and sometimes I use the washers in different combinations. Using rubber O-rings also works. Mind you, this is only needed if the record is "bowl" or "dish" shaped, that is - one side of the record has the label floating and the other side has the label firmly on the platter and the outer edge floating and wobbling in thin air. The first problem is easily solved with any type of clamp BUT the floating edge problem needs a washer under the label and a clamp with a protruding rim.
Using the clamp does "flatten" many records that otherwise would be to warped to play well, but it does not totally solve the problems if the warp is to big. The clamp also, at least to my ears, tighten the sound of most records, most noticeable in the bass region. But I also found that pressing down and tightening in excess can, again to my ears, “dampen” the sound slightly, making it a little bit less “clear”, like listening through a thin veil.
All in all, and used the right way it is a “must have”!

I have a Michel Syncro and this clamp fits perfectly even 180g thick LP's. It has the ability to flatten vinyl that has mishappen over the years. Also can affect the sound of the record, so again that is something for you to look out for as that will be a personal preference, takes a wee bit of the high notes.so sometimes can be a good thing. The clasp works very well and the speedy delivery from AnalogueSeduction an added bonus.

There are lots of record weights out there, but few clamps. I wanted the former as I cannot really see the point of the latter. The Michell is far cheaper than the Pro-ject Clamp-it so it got my money. I think that I can hear a difference with tighter bass but then again, I may just be kidding myself......
