These definitely tightened up the bass on my RP10. Going back to the original feet the bass is just a bit woolly. They also unmuddy the upper bass/lower mids. Snare drums have better attack and noticeable on acoustic guitars too. I found the presentation to be a little cold overall. I ended up trying various combinations. For me, the original foot on the rear and two of these on the front kept the bass tight with a nice amount of attack without the coldness.

When I spoke to Analogue seduction about changing the feet on my RP10 turntable, they were very interested in any differences I noted and asked me to report back, so here goes.

I was interested to try out these feet on my RP10 turntable for 2 reasons;

Firstly, the turntable has a very uneven weight distribution, being much heavier on the motor and platter side. This causes the soft section of the standard feet to compress more on the heavy side and makes levelling the deck precisely a bit fiddly, with a need to adjust the screw feet to do so. I am not sure if having the feet partly unscrewed gives the best rigid coupling between the deck and the rack either, so may go against Roy Gandy's design principles for the deck.

Secondly, if there is a little looseness in the bass or you prefer absolute precision, maybe these would help by giving a more rigid coupling to the rack.

I am using a HiFi Racks Podium Reference rack in solid oak and the RP10 is mounted on the second to top shelf.

When I added the metal feet the sound of the system changed in a subtle, but obvious way. Bass indeed became slightly taughter and drier. Those who know the RP10 will be aware it already has about the least overhang or bloom of any record player out there, but these metal feet definitely tweaked the sound even further that way. Upper frequencies perhaps have a tiny bit more sharpness to them but this is very slight indeed. On even very deep bass there is precision and clarity in the bass elements within the sound and the system keeps a grip at all times.

They are staying on my RP10 as in my case they tweak the sound in a positive way for my taste and my support equipment.

On some racks, e.g. metal and glass, I am thinking they may take the sound too far in the "zingy' direction, as those racks tend to have a slightly more forward sound. On any rack that was picking up significant vibration I should imagine the standard feet would also be better.

I love my record players to sound pacy, accurate and musical, hence my choices of Rega RP10 and Roksan Xerxes and these feet are capable of enhancing that quality on the RP10 on certain supports.

Rather than considering them an upgrade, I would say they are an alternative that will tweak the sound slightly depending on the user's preferences and the support system in use. With AS return policy there is no harm in giving them a try.
