I have been upgrading my Rega planar 1 for a few months. I know, I should have bought a Planar 3. It would been cheaper in the end. I added an acrylic platter, metal subplatter, ceramic bearing and an AT-VM95ML cartridge. Sounded great! I then decided to change the tonearm. I didn't expect too much. The change is huge! I don't know whether it is just the arm, or the arm plus the upgraded cables, but everything sounds clearer, expecially voices and guitar. I can hear 'deeper' into the music. Much easier to pick out individual instruments. In other words a huge change. Installing the arm was a doddle. Much easier than I expected. It any took about 1/2 an hour. I am writing this after listening to just two albums. I expect it to improve after the cables burn in. Thank you Analogue Seduction for your help and very prompt delivery. Highly recommended.
