This custom-made adapter mates a Cardas GRFA female RCA connector to a female XLR. It features non-magnetic, eutectic brass construction, with rhodium and silver contact surfaces. The brass nut is gold plated.
My DAC has a separate high quality balanced output on XLR but I have to use the RCA output to match my preamplifier. Always wanted to have a go at using the balanced output but worried that an adapter would have an impact on the sound. The Cardas adapter is beautifully made and looks fantastic. Tone colours, air, trimming clues and overall resolution noticeably better using the balanced output and the Cardas adapter. Not cheap but excellent value for money given their looks and performance.

I have an EQ that only has balanced inputs and outputs so I've always been forced to use adapters to connect the CD player. Before I was using basic range adapters and the sound was quite acceptable and decent so I wanted to try these Cardas adapters to make a qualitative leap and the results are very satisfactory. The sound has improved overall in all areas, there is more detail, more micro-information, more dynamics, more presence, more air and more musicality. They are not as cheap as the ones I had but the quality has a price and I think they are absolutely recommended. Thanks once more Analogue Seduction for an impeccable service!
