Mono LP model with a conical bonded stylus in the body dedicated to monaural sound. Specialised internal wiring allows for reduced surface noise and stable sound reproduction.
DUAL MOVING MAGNET STEREO CARTRIDGE
Using an ultra-lightweight stylus tip ground to a high level of precision, we have achieved a combination of low distortion rate with fuller frequency reproduction during playback. This stylus tip extracts every possible piece of information from the grooves on a record.
Instead of using a single, large magnet, the two magnets are arranged in the shape of a "V". The two magnets are positioned precisely to match the positions of the left and right channels in the stereo groove walls. Consequently, the VM design ensures outstanding channel separation, extended frequency response and superb tracking.
Para-toroidal coils improve generating efficiency and offers superb linearity, since leakage of magnetic flux in this continuous and unitised magnetic circuit is low. Permeability of the cores is also optimised through the use of laminated cores.
A permalloy centre shield plate enables the effective separation of left and right channels, suppressing electrical crosstalk to below 40dB. This is similar to the actual crosstalk value found in the grooves of the record itself.
Having recently received a number of classical mono records from the 1950's, it was clear that my stereo cartridge, an ortofon black, although an excellent cartridge, was not reproducing them at their best, so ordered the VM610mono after some online exploration of cartridge options.Despatched promptly and well packaged as always, I was able to mount on AT HS1 headshell with bolts provided, so issue of previous reviewer would seem to be resolved. Set-up straight forward. I cannot compare to other mono cartridges, but certainly a significant improvement in my system, making the experience of listening truly enjoyable and engaging. Significantly lower noise, the sound well balanced, providing the presence and 'punch' expected of good recordings of the period.

bought this cartridge along with AT-HS1 headshell. First off, the cartridge/ATHS1 headshell combo is a very poor fit, be warned. Despite both items being Audio Technica, the space available for the securing bolts is too small, plus the bolts are shown in the instruction guide to be fitted upside down to what I consider a normal fit, ie downwards. The hexagonal nuts supplied are also too large to fit either way up, or down as recommended by AT.I contacted AT's helpline, who informed me they are aware of this problem. This is not the fault of Analogue Seduction.Once new alternative bolts were sourced, things got easier and the cart sounds fine once in use.The headshell problems point me towards a lower rating, but the cartridge is ultimately what this review is about. The usual good service from Analogue Seduction.

Great mono cartridge at a very affordable price. Bass is well controlled, highs are clear & crisp but never harsh, and the mid's are lovely, vocals sound great on this cartridge. If you have a few mono lp's in your collection and want to hear them reproduced properly without breaking the bank, start here!
